Oman is quickly becoming one of the most crypto-savvy countries in the world, with a recent Souq Analyst survey revealing that about 65,000 of its citizens possess bitcoin and other forms of cryptocurrency. The study revealed that almost 2% of the country’s adult population owns crypto, indicating a remarkable level of knowledge and awareness of the asset class in the Arab state.
The survey showed that an impressive 98% of Oman’s adult population had heard of cryptocurrencies, indicating a growing awareness of the technology. Bitcoin was the most popular cryptocurrency among Oman’s crypto owners, with 55% of respondents indicating ownership. Ethereum followed as the second most popular, with XRP, Tether, and other alternative cryptocurrencies trailing behind.
Furthermore, the survey indicated that roughly one-fourth of the respondents had completed high school, and 90% of cryptocurrency holders in the country were between the ages of 18 and 44.
Notably, the survey revealed that a sizeable percentage of bitcoin owners consider their holdings as a secure alternative to traditional money. Over 12% of respondents said they owned crypto assets worth more than 10,000 USD.
The Souq Analyst survey thus indicates that crypto knowledge in Oman is significantly high, with bitcoin being the most popular cryptocurrency among holders in the country. Moving forward, it is likely that Oman’s crypto-awareness will continue to increase, with more citizens embracing the technology for its diverse applications.
